Sn-Beta Catalyzed Transformations of Sugars—Advances in Catalyst and Applications

چکیده
Beta zeolite modified with Sn in the framework (Sn-Beta) was synthesized and introduced as a heterogeneous catalyst for Baeyer–Villiger oxidations about twenty years ago. Since then, both syntheses strategies, characterization understanding well applications material have developed significantly. Remarkably, Sn-Beta has been discovered to exhibit unprecedented high catalytic efficiency transformation of glucose fructose (i.e., aldoses ketoses) lactic acid derivatives aqueous alcoholic media, which inspired an extensive interest develop more facile scalable routes sugars transformations. This review survey progress made on approaches within catalyzed transformations sugar, including bottom-up top-down isomerization, dehydration, fragmentation sugars.
